A Redditor was a part of a benign yet hilarious family prank even before she was born. The OP's mom has an undeniably Eastern European name.

Her paternal grandmother hated that her golden child, OP's father, married someone with an "odd" name. Her grandmother made a snark remark when OP's parents announced that they were expecting.

She said, "You better not give it one of those weird European names." Annoyed by the grandma's reaction, OP's parents started to refer to their bundle of joy as Rasputin.
